Product Update - Testifire Remote Control

Testifire's new, optional, remote control facilitates its use on both aspirating smoke detection (ASD) systems and on detectors with 'virtual chambers'.

One of the many benefits of using Testifire is the wide range of detectors it can test. Its internal design and the use of unique smoke and CO capsules help make this possible and in doing so make Testifire the most advanced test tool available today.

When testing the majority of detectors, Testifire uses an infrared beam to initiate and stop the testing cycle. However, some types of detector - such as those with 'virtual chambers' or sampling points that are holes in a surface simply do not have the physical 'presence' to automatically initiate a test since they do not interrupt the infrared beam within Testifire. The Testifire 25 Remote Control overcomes this challenge by enabling remote manual initiation and end of a test sequence (at a distance of up to nine metres). The control is compatible with all models of Testifire with no modifications or programming required.

In addition to ASD systems and virtual chamber detectors, Testifire is also suitable for testing optical point smoke sensors - including single, laser, dual wavelength and dual scatter types - ionisation smoke sensors, thermal sensors, CO fire sensors and multi-sensor or multi-criteria detectors.
