Testifire short listed for award

Detectortesters are delighted to announce that their new multi stimulus detector tester – Testifire - has been short listed for a major award. The ‘Industrial Product Design of the Year’ category is one of 14 awards which will form the programme for the Plastics Industry Awards 2008 which take place next month in London.

Testifire – the world’s first multi-stimulus detector tester utilises no aerosols for either smoke, heat or CO production, instead stimuli is created on demand via replaceable capsules. Additionally, it is the first product to be able to test complex multisensor fire detectors containing smoke, heat and CO sensors.

A wide range of specialist materials are used within Testifire in order to achieve the high level of testing required, amongst them are over 70 custom-moulded plastic and rubber components. Each material was chosen for its special characteristics such as flexibility, high working temperature, high impact strength, durability, chemical resistance, shock absorption, optical clarity, etc. It was these factors, along with the success of the final product which led to Testifire being entered for the award.

The Plastics Industry Awards 2008 take place at the London Hilton on 20th June. For more information visit www.plasticsawards.com
