Sensitivity and Calibration Products

Sensitivity testing ascertains not only whether, but at what point, the detector responds to smoke. It is a qualitative test.

When performed in the field sensitivity checking of smoke detectors (increasingly required by standards around the world) can be performed by a number of means. Our own, Trutest, is perhaps the most sophisticated, 3rd party, universal device available in the world.

When carried out in the laboratory, factory or test house calibration checking is performed with a smoke tunnel. This very specialist device is calibrated to European EN standards) and used by detector manufacturers and 3rd party approval houses worldwide.
