Conversations at Firex...

Posted in: Expos Events News

Last week’s Firex International was a great time for the industry to get back together, since the last show in 2019 it seems plenty has changed when it comes to testing – so what were some of the trends and themes discussed?

Firstly, the type of detection being installed has continued to evolve. From the conversations held on our stand, it seems ASD systems continue to rise in popularity with a significant number of visitors coming to our stand to talk about the sites where they have installed these systems and the challenge of then ensuring on-going testing and maintenance.

From our own customer survey’s we’ve known that the use of multi-sensor detectors has also been on the rise, this trend was confirmed by visitors to our stand with many questions around the testing of these devices and how best to achieve this in a compliant manner.

The other major topic of discussion was training. This is clearly something the industry has embraced, particularly over the lockdown period and the trend seems to be continuing – with visitors talking about their success in attending training courses run by the Fire Industry Association and specialist training companies such as Zzeus.

The hunger for development and training has also spread into specialist manufacturer training, with high uptake for specialist CPD webinars run by companies such as Apollo, Fike and ourselves.

All these topics led to some great discussions at the show, in particular it was great to hear about some of the sites our Scorpion solution is now installed in – including arts venues, universities, retail outlets and transportation hubs.

As a result of the discussions we have plenty of enquires related to our Testifire and Scorpion ranges and our team are now well in to the process of following up on these.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit the show and in particular those who made it to our stand to enquire about our solutions or to offer valuable product feedback, it was a great few days and we look forward to continuing the discussions in the coming weeks.
