New webinar – testing hard-to-access smoke detectors and ASD systems

Posted in: Training News

Detectortesters (No Climb Products Ltd.), the world-leading designer and manufacturer of test equipment for fire detection systems, is celebrating today after being confirmed as a winner of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

No access, No excuses – Testing hard-to-access Smoke Detectors and ASD systems with scorpion*

Smoke detectors and ASD systems can be installed at great height or in locations such as; lift shafts, ceiling voids and secure rooms, which cannot be easily accessed during a standard maintenance visit. These detectors and systems still need to be tested, especially as their location often means they would be among the devices most relied upon in the event of a fire.

This new course covers the ease at which such systems can be tested using Scorpion.

By the end of the course, those attending will have an understanding and appreciation of the following subjects:

•  Typical locations of hard-to-access detectors and ASD systems
(lift shafts, ceiling voids, secure rooms)
•  Existing Scorpion installs (including: health care estates, universities, airports, manufacturing plants and retail sites)
•  How Scorpion works
•  ROI on installing Scorpion

*We’re currently awaiting CPD certification for this course. We expect to have this confirmed by the time of the first course.

Testing & Maintenance of Fire Detection Systems

The course covers the standards, law and testing methodologies for fire detectors – delivering product training and insights related to the Solo, Testifire and Scorpion product ranges.

A useful re-fresher for experienced fire professionals, the course is also a good starting point for those who are new to the industry. The course provides 2 hours free CPD training.

By the end of the course, those attending will have an understanding and appreciation of the following subjects:

•  Competency & Responsibility
•  British Standards & Best Practice
•  The importance of monitoring false alarms
•  How to test correctly using Solo, Testifire and Scorpion
•  General testing tips
•  Ideas for further training and qualifications

Testing Single & Multi-Sensor Detectors with Testifire

This course is a product based session focussing on the use of Testifire. With multi-sensor detectors becoming increasingly popular, the need to test these in a compliant and productive manner also increases.

Starting with a look at the standards which need to be followed when testing multi-sensor detectors, the session will then move on to look at the functionality within Testifire and the difference it can make to day to day testing.

By the end of the course, those attending will have an understanding and appreciation of the following subjects:

•  Competency & Responsibility
•  British Standards & Best Practice
•  The complete Testifire range
•  How to test single and multi-sensor detectors correctly using Testifire
•  Identification of different sensors
•  Care and maintenance of Testifire

Free registration for all webinars is open now, we look forward to meeting you online over the next few months.
